About the Photographer

Eight years behind the camera.

Eight years photographing weddings and couples, with a strong eye for portraits, candids and the moments that move quickly. I understand how a wedding day runs, how to work around a lead, and how to read timing, light, people and movement throughout the day.

I run my own photography business, Tales by Varun. Right now I keep my own wedding calendar deliberately light — family and other work commitments come first — so I take only a small number of my own bookings each year. In between, I shoot as a second for other professional photographers. The flexibility suits where I am, and it keeps me doing the work I love alongside good teams.

On the day I follow your style and direction, cover the secondary angles, and stay discreet. No client management on my side — your booking, your brief, your delivery. Comfortable across simple English weddings and longer multicultural and South Asian days.

Yes. I follow the lead photographer's brief and style, cover the angles you ask for, and stay discreet throughout. I'm there to support the coverage — not to take over the day.

I shoot in full RAW/JPEG and can shoot straight to your own SD cards, handed to you at the end of the day — no culling on my side, so you keep the full take and edit to your own style. There's no client-facing delivery from me; it stays entirely your booking.

Yes — English, South Asian, Tamil, Indian, Sri Lankan and multicultural weddings, including civil, church and registry ceremonies. Longer days (often 10–15 hours) are quoted in advance so the extra coverage is protected.

Based in Birmingham, available across Solihull, Coventry, Leicester, Wolverhampton, the West Midlands and the wider Midlands. Travel further afield can be discussed for selected dates.

Yes. I shoot Sony — an A7 IV with dual card backup — and work mainly with the Sigma 35mm (my favourite) and the Sigma 135mm. Spare batteries and cards as standard, and I'm happy to shoot a lens you suggest if you'd like the look matched to your kit.

As early as you can to secure the date — though I do hold space for emergency and short-notice cover. Send the date and I'll confirm availability quickly.
